With the increased activities of Alcatel in the Universal Broadband Wireless Access, Bruno Potdevin has been appointed Vice President of Business Development & Marketing of the newly-formed Alcatel Broadband Wireless Access Business Unit. Since joining Alcatel Enterprise & Solution Division in 1981, Bruno spent most of his time in sales, marketing and business development functions, focusing on high technology market, data communications and applications. Through his various experiences with Alcatel, Bruno had a thorough international exposure and could contribute to develop Alcatel's presence in Europe, in the USA, in Asia Pacific and in Africa. Bruno Potdevin holds a Master Degree of Mathematics and an MBA from the Institute of Management, University of Paris. |

Veljo Haamer, WiFi.ee |
In March 2002, Mr. Veljo Haamer started WiFi.ee, Estonia's leading wireless portal, with the aims of opening more WiFi areas and providing free (or very cheap) wireless Internet access for many people in Estonia. March 2006 marks the 4th anniversary of Veljo's efforts, and in just 4 years, WiFi.ee has transformed from 5 WiFi enabled areas to 728 'hotspots' (and counting). Beginning in 2006, Veljo began working with WiMAX.ee as well, a site that will be dedicated to cataloguing the deployment of WiMAX and BWA technologies throughout Estonia. Mr. Haamer specializes in location-based media and client authentication services. |

Mr. Hurmi Jürjens works for Vendomar Ltd., as a wireless product manager. He has worked in the field of wireless system integration and network planning since 1997. At present, Mr. Jürjens is a Masters student of Radio and Communication Engineering at Tallinn University of Technology, where his Masters thesis will be on the subject of WiMAX and it's uses in Estonian wireless networks. |

Veronica Bocarova is a full-time consultant at Cullen International, a company providing advisory and information services in the field of telecommunications, multimedia and electronic commerce regulation. The clients include major telecommunications operators, equipment manufacturers, IT companies, online service providers, regulatory authorities and national governments. Before joining Cullen International in 2002, Veronica worked for two years for Ericsson business consulting in Stockholm advising fixed and mobile telecommunications operators, service providers, venture capital firms, content and application developers in the field of market entry strategies, regulatory issues, business processes and financial analysis. Veronica holds a Master of Science degree in International Economics and Finance from the Stockholm School of Economics. |

Mr. Glenn Strachan is presently serving as Chief of Party overseeing the Macedonia Connects Project which provides nationwide broadband wireless connectivity to 460 primary and secondary schools as well as select universities and NGOs. This work has been highlighted in such publications as the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Christian Science Monitor and the BBC show "Click Online." Prior to this project, Mr. Strachan worked on wireless connectivity solutions in Romania and Uganda. The work in Romania demonstrated various connectivity solutions which could be implemented to provide Internet connectivity to the most remote and impoverished regions in eastern Romania. The work in Uganda established the first wireless networking solution in the country to provide Internet connectivity to nine primary teacher colleges. For 10 of his 13 years of service at AED, Mr. Strachan served as Chief Information Officer and Vice President. Prior to AED, Mr. Strachan worked for Realcom/WorldCom where he designed, configured and managed a 26 city Wide Area Network in the United States. Mr. Strachan brings with him 30 years of computer and networking expertise. Mr. Strachan holds a Masters degree from Humboldt State University and Bachelor degrees from San Jose State University. |

Linnar Viik is an Associate professor of intellectual capital theory in the Estonian IT College. Mr. Viik has also been a founder and member of the boards of several mobile communications, broadband and software companies. He was the former advisor to the Prime Minister of Estonia on ICT, innovation, R&D and civic society issues, and has served as Vice-President and Head of Product Development Division for TELE2 International Telecommunication and Media Group. Earlier occupations include United Nations Development Programme as Programme Specialist and advisor, Stockholm Environment Institute as Counsellor, and involvment in a number of NGOs and Foundations in Northern Europe. Linnar has written over 120 articles and 10 reports, mostly on the topics of Knowledge Based Economy and Implications of Information Society. He is widely heralded as Estonia's "Mr. Internet," for his early visions and success in integrating ICT into Estonian society and daily life. |
